DIMAPUR, SEPT 12 : Doulos Theological College (DTC) marked its 13th Foundation Day with a thanksgiving service on Wednesday, September 11, to celebrate its accreditation by the Asia Theological Association (ATA). The event, held at the college premises, was highlighted by prayers, performances, and a special presentation by the college choir.

Takowati, Assistant Director at the Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, served as the main speaker. In his address, he encouraged students to be dedicated in their studies and service of God, and also stressed that educational qualifications must translate into service to others. He stated that there is no point to educational degrees if we cannot be of service to our people, and urged students to view the Bible as a source of knowledge applicable to all aspects of life.

Takowati also emphasized the importance of morality, stating, "If you lose your morality, you also lose your spirituality," and highlighted that morality should guide one's spiritual journey.

In his welcome address, Dr. Onen Jamir, the founder president of DTC, shared a brief history of the college, revealing that it was established on September 11, 2011, following a vision his family received during a period of fasting and prayer. The vision inspired them to open a theological institution that would “equip, train and motivate youth and Christian leaders to be more effective and successful in fulfilling their calling and achieving their goals”.

Dr. Jamir added that the college, which began with only five staff members and 18 students, has since grown, boasting its own campus, an increasing student body, and a well-equipped library, including an e-library.

The event concluded with a thanksgiving prayer for the ATA accreditation and benediction, marking another milestone in DTC's journey of theological education and service to the community.
