N. William Koso, a pioneering football coach and educator from Nagaland, tragically passed away following a car accident in Chümoukedima. He was rushed to Referral Hospital, where he was declared dead in the early hours. A post-mortem will be conducted at Dimapur Civil Hospital.
As the first Nagaland coach to earn an AFC A License, Koso played a vital role in developing football in the state, particularly through his leadership in the Nagaland Super League (NSL) and his efforts in training and certifying coaches. He previously served as an assistant coach at Aizawl FC, contributing to their I-League victory, and as High Performance Manager at KISCE Nagaland, mentoring young footballers.
His dedication to coaching and grassroots football development has left a lasting legacy in Nagaland’s sporting community.
