Dimapur | June 30, 2025:
A bomb blast mock drill was conducted at Dimapur Railway Station by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in collaboration with various state and railway emergency response teams. The simulated drill involved multiple agencies, including the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), Railway Medical Team, Fire and Emergency Services, Railway Protection Force, and Railway Special Force.
Speaking to the media, Sanjit Sarkar, Assistant Security Commissioner of RPF, stated that the mock drill was conducted to evaluate the readiness of all concerned departments and bring them together on a single platform. “This mock drill was conducted by the RPF with assistance from various state agencies such as SDRF, BDDS, Railway Medical Team, and others. The goal was to check our preparedness and strengthen coordination among all departments,” Sarkar said.
“We appreciate the leadership role taken by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Senior Commanding Police (SCP), as well as the dedication of all teams involved. Based on today’s drill, the performance level stands at around 70%, and we will work on areas that require improvement,” he added. Sarkar further emphasized that such drills ensure unity and operational synergy among departments and expressed confidence in their ability to respond effectively to real-life crises in the future.
