Dimapur | September 26, 2025 – In a commendable effort to enhance community access to clean water, the Lions Club of Blue Venda has successfully completed and inaugurated a comprehensive drinking water project at Kalibari, Dimapur on Sept 24 . The initiative, spearheaded by the club’s leadership including President Alpana Paul, Secretary Priya Bhattacharjee, and Chairperson Mamoni Mazumdar, addresses vital infrastructure needs in the area.
 

The project was formally inaugurated by Lion Neena Dutta, FDI FVDG, during a vibrant ceremony that brought together members from various Lions Clubs. Invited guests included representatives from the Dimapur Lions Club, the Lions Club of Dimapur Japhu Kalibari Women’s Wing, and the cabinet members of Lions Club 322D, underscoring the collaborative spirit of the Lions community.
 

The drinking water project features the installation of a new water tank, an electric iron filter for purification, an auto switch and set-up box for efficient operation, along with new pipelines. Additionally, the initiative involved servicing of old pipelines in jati Niwas and the laying of pipes to connect to a cold water freezing set, ensuring reliable and safe water supply for residents.
The event drew a large crowd, with more than 100 people in attendance, culminating in a shared lunch that fostered camaraderie and celebrated the achievement. This project not only improves daily life for the Kalibari community but also exemplifies the Lions Club’s commitment to sustainable development and public welfare.
President Alpana Paul highlighted the project’s significance, stating, “Access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right, and through this initiative, we aim to make a lasting positive impact on our community.” Secretary Priya Bhattacharjee and Chairperson Mamoni Mazumdar echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the role of teamwork in bringing such projects to fruition. The Lions Club of Blue Venda continues to lead by example in humanitarian services, inspiring others to contribute to societal betterment.
