A 13-member delegation of Team Nagaland Congress, including AICC Minority Department National Coordinator Shri Rajesh Kumar Sethi, participated in the historic “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” Maha Rally organised by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) at Ramlila Ground, New Delhi, today.
The Nagaland Congress team participated under the able leadership and guidance of NPCC President and Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Supongmeren Jamir ji, and joined lakhs of Congress workers and citizens from across the country in raising a united voice to safeguard democracy and uphold the sanctity of free and fair elections.
The rally, led by AICC President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji and Leader of Opposition Shri Rahul Gandhi ji, witnessed a massive participation of around 2–3 lakh people from all parts of India, reflecting the growing public outrage against the alleged nexus between the BJP government and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
It was highlighted that more than 5 crore signatures have been collected from across the country against “Vote Chori”, demonstrating the nationwide resistance against the systematic undermining of the electoral process. Nagaland alone has contributed over 2 lakh signatures, reflecting the strong democratic consciousness of the people of the State. These signatures will be formally submitted by the AICC to the Hon’ble President of India in the coming days, seeking urgent intervention to protect India’s democracy.
Despite Shri Rahul Gandhi ji conducting three major press conferences and placing documentary proofs and evidence before the nation, the Election Commission has chosen to remain silent. The ECI, instead of acting as an independent constitutional authority, has regrettably become a mute spectator, further eroding public faith in democratic institutions.
Senior leaders and frontal organisations from Nagaland marked their presence at the rally, including NPCC General Secretary Shri Akunnuo, NSUI Nagaland President and his team, IYC Nagaland President and his team, Mahila Congress President, DCC Presidents from Dimapur and Kohima, and the Minority Department Chairman, NPCC.
Team Nagaland Congress reaffirmed its firm resolve to continue the democratic struggle against authoritarianism, institutional capture, and any attempt to dilute the voice of the people. The Congress Party will continue to fight relentlessly—on the streets, in Parliament, and before constitutional authorities—until transparency, fairness, and accountability are restored in India’s electoral system.
