Speaking to the media on the benefits of the recently signed MoA for the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority, ENPO President Chingmak Chang said the FNTA will provide financial autonomy and focused development for Eastern Nagaland with support from the Ministry of Home Affairs. He informed that a Joint Monitoring Committee comprising representatives from the Government of India, the Nagaland Government, and ENPO will be constituted to oversee the implementation process. Chang further stated that an interim government will be set up and a mini secretariat headed by an Additional Chief Secretary will function under the FNTA. Clarifying the selection process, he said the Governor will appoint the interim body in consultation with ENPO, adding that FNTA will be constituted under Article 371. He also expressed sadness and gratitude while remembering ENPO pioneers and founders who could not live to witness the realization of the long-standing demand.
