Students of Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, were urged to count their blessings, as many children in the state still have no access to science education. The reminder came from Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) Chairperson Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, who inaugurated the school's new Science Laboratory Block and Conference Hall virtually as chief guest on Wednesday.

Nsarangbe said that some districts have children with no access to science education. He pointed out that of the 61 schools offering the science stream across the state, spread over 14 districts, 20 are government schools and 41 are private. The three districts of Shamator, Noklak and Longleng have no school offering the science stream at all.

Against this backdrop, he asked the students to value the facilities and opportunities available to them.

The chief guest also stressed the importance of science in daily life, saying that without science and technology, nothing can progress. He said the NBSE firmly believes in its efforts to promote science education in the state.

The inauguration was held at the school campus.
