Nagaland reports first COVID-19 death

KOHIMA, 24thJULY: Health and Family Welfare Department in it COVID-19 bulletin this evening reported the state’s first COVID-19 death. A 50 year old man, who passed away on 21st July was tested positive for the disease today. The patient was a resident of New Chumukedima, who was admitted at CHC Medziphema on 19th July. His sample was tested negative from Truenet on 19th July. However, the BSL -2 (RT-PCR) report received today, the patient was found to be positive with Corona. Meanwhile, a total of 65 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported today taking the state’s tally to 1,239. At present, the total active cases in the state stand at 701 while 537 patients have recovered with one death reported.
